Banyan Flannel
Pearl farming in Phuket dates back decades, with divers descending into warm coastal waters to tend cultivation beds and harvest oysters by hand. The work is methodical: checking grids, gathering shells, extracting pearls one by one. Labor shaped by the ocean's rhythm, not its temperature.
The pearls on this shirt are sewn by hand, following that same careful process. Front placement follows the logic of snowfall pearls running down the center, where snow would gather on fabric in cold weather. Back placement traces the form of a banyan tree, branches spreading across the shoulders, casting shade across Phuket markets and gathering spaces.
